Welcome to APAN39

Dear Friends,

On behalf of APRICOT-APAN 2015 organizing committee, we would like to extend our heartfull welcome to you all to the joint conference of the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies 2015 (APRICOT2015) and the 39th Asia Pacific Advanced Network meeting (APAN39) which will be held from 24th February to 6th March in Fukuoka, Japan.

APRICOT is the conference for the network operators which started in 1996 to follow the style of North American Operators Group (NANOG) conference. The main topic is about the network operation but it will also involve the Internet governance issues. If you know well about this area, that is the Internet governance, the IANA function transition issues or the Netmundial initiatives will be the topic. On the other hand, APAN's topic is about the research activities on the research and education networks (RENs). But, as you know, the active technology of the network operation is very important for understanding the actual status of the Internet. And the RENs are the Internet infrastructures, too. For the operators of the APRICOT, APAN can show them the future environments of the Internet.

The first joint conference was held in 2011 and the local committee got the great feedbacks from the attendees and they could learn a lot of unexpected issues. And they could meet with the unexpected old friends and colleagues, too.

The local organizing committee is expecting all the attendees could get the great impression at this joint conference.
